Dr. Zakaria Abdelhamid is a distinguished healthcare professional with a specialization in anesthesiology and a deep focus on Healthcare Quality Management since 2004. He is recognized as a pioneer in the implementation of quality standards in healthcare facilities across Egypt, marking him as a key figure in the nation’s healthcare sector.

In addition to his primary specialty, Dr. Abdelhamid has achieved numerous accreditation certificates with various organizations both within and outside Egypt. His affiliations include esteemed institutions such as Dar Al Fouad, Wadi El Neel Hospitals, El Araby Hospital, and Al Iman General Hospital.

Since 2010, Dr. Abdelhamid has served as a Hospital Standards Certified Surveyor in the accreditation committee of the Ministry of Health in Egypt. In 2019, he further expanded his influence by joining the General Authority of Healthcare Accreditation and Regulation as a principal surveyor and member of the Higher Accreditation Committee.

Dr. Abdelhamid’s commitment to quality and patient safety led him to collaborate with the Joint Commission International, where he contributed as a JCI Faculty for the Quality and Patient Safety Training Certificate for Healthcare Professionals.

He played a pivotal role as the vice-chairman of the Hospitals Standards Development Committee, where he was instrumental in developing and issuing the Egyptian Hospital Accreditation Standards and the Primary Healthcare Centers Accreditation Standards.

Dr. Abdelhamid also lent his expertise to the World Health Organization’s Egypt country office, serving as a Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant. His contributions have been instrumental in shaping the landscape of healthcare quality and patient safety in Egypt.
